We love these new Venom Variants

Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we kick things off in comics where Venom is taking over the Marvel universe in March. Over in IDW world, we talk about their new “DEVIATIONS” line (Judge Dread werewolf…what?!) and close things out in level one with news about the upcoming YOUNG JUSTICE series and what you need to do to get more YOUNG JUSTICE in your lives.

Heading into level two, NINTENDO has released SUPER MARIO RUN and with over 10 million downloads it seems we have another NINTENDO hit on our hands…or do we? Lash and Tony try and get their final DESTINY talk of the year out of the way and we dive into the metrics of backwards compatibility on the Xbox One – which we promise is way more interesting than it sounds.

Over in the world of entertainment, the reboot we never knew we wanted – DUCKTAILS has been announced and Tony freaks out over the casting. DC ENTERTAINMENT takes over the latter half of entertainment news with topics ranging from the upcoming GOTHAM CITY SIRENS to what is new in the world of THE BATMAN.

Episode 186: Hollywood’s Evolution

With online television becoming more important to us, we have to ask – can Hollywood evolve to keep up?

Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we kick things off in comics where it is the 25 anniversary of IMAGE COMICS and they have one heck of a present in store for us. Marvel is ramping up their new ICEMAN title and it looks to be one cool comic to look forward to. Level one wraps up with some talks about WIZARD WORLD’s expansion and if the massive con-family needs to continue.

Over in games, everything this week is centered around one thing: the celebration of the PLAYSTATION. We have announcements from THE LAST OF US 2 to a huge debate over fighting games. Even games you never cared about like KNACK get some love in this level.

Over in the world of entertainment, ALIENS is out to ruin James’ birthday with their newest announcement. We also break down the top 5 movies of 2016 (according to Google) and get really sassy over the idea that BACK to the FUTURE could be remade. Level 3 winds down with a discussion about diversity in cinema, all thanks to a little movie you might have heard of called ROGUE ONE.
