Episode 194: Touching Cult Classics

At what point should we leave cult classics alone?

When should we leave cult classics alone?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we kick things off in comics where we break down what Greater Creators is and why you should be watching it. We also have a comic CREATORS convention announcement and we close out level one with a discussion on if comic relaunches are really all they have cracked up to be.
Heading into level two, Square Enix is taking on Marvel properties but leaving Deus Ex in the dust. Microsoft fills out the latter half of level two with big announcements on backwards compatibility and their “snap” feature.
Over in the world of entertainment, we have a big ‘ol update on the future of the newest Batman movie and what that means for DC entertainment as a whole. We also get into the Highlander remake and end level three with a talk about what James Cameron thinks about things.
Our epilogue this week is about cult classics and when they should be left as they are. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (info@thesurlynerd.com!)

Episode 101: Go **** Yourself San Diego

Comic-con, Comic-con, San Diego Comic-Con tiiiiiime!

How excited we are for the Deadpool trailer
Greetings adventurers, it’s an all new episode of The Surly Nerd! Join us as we wade through the plethora of news coming out of San Diego Comic-con. So much happened in the last week in the world of nerdy news but does ANY of it have to do with comic books? We kick our show off with that thought as we go into the winners of the Eisner Awards and from there move into what’s new for Superman in his comics as well as Marvels plans for their newest acquisition – Angela.
We slide from those comic topics over to the world of video games. John Romero tells us what he thinks about the PC vs Console war, we get deep into what makes HALO a true franchise and we bitch more and more about Ubisofts sexism. We try to talk about happier things in Entertainment News with Evil Dead television series but just end up angrier from where we started. Avengers theories, Batman V Superman rants and a discussion about the Deadpool “leaked” trailer close out our show. Get comfy with us as we get into super geeky comic discussions on episode 101 of The Surly Nerd.
