Greetings adventurers, it’s time for an all new episode of The Surly Nerd! This week Marvel has decided they want to be all up in our news and we are here to pass the savings on to you! After an awesome prelude where we go into the new Constantine show, we start off with Comic Industry News. In the world of comics we go a bit into the new Harry Potter story to be released on Halloween (today), She-Hulks cancellation, Marvel’s new anti-bullying campaign and the “The End” campaign for the Ultimate’s universe.
In Game Industry News we tell you all about the PS4’s newest update, the remote features coming to the PS4, 3D Realms reopening for business and the current state of the Call of Duty franchise. In Entertainment News, Marvel takes center stage again as we rejoice in all the Marvel movie announcements, we talk about the new Archie T.V series and why we can’t wait for it and the Phantom of the Opera series that we hope doesn’t make it out from the sewers. We close out the show with a discussion about the current state of the “Super-hero” genre that we think all of you will love.

It’s New York Comic-Con time on this weeks…THE SURLY NERD!

Civil War is coming back!
Greetings adventurers, it’s an all new episode of The Surly Nerd! This week on the show we cover anything and everything that came out of New York Comic-Con, kicking off the show (after the prelude, of course) with Comic Industry News. The comic announcements this week were amazing as Todd Mcfarlane passes Spawn off to Brian Wood of DMZ fame. Archie ends up hooking up with the Predator, Marvel cancels the Fantastic Four and we get rumors about a new Secret War and Civil War series.
In Game Industry News, Capcom tells us why they won’t make a sequel to video games that don’t sell over two million copies, we talk a bit about Microsoft’s “parity clause” and wrap up level two with Sony getting ready to enter the Chinese market. In Entertainment news, Marvel pops back up with new rumors of Civil War coming to the big screen as well as their plans for their 75th anniversary special on ABC. We spend some time talking about the death of the Carnage movie and what that might mean to the overall Marvel movie universe and close out the show talking about the return of Twin Peaks!
