Episode 193: What Our Games Will Say About Us

This week we ask the question: What will our games say about us, culturally?

What do our games say about us?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we kick things off in comics where a lost Marvel title is finally getting resurrected and an old Spider-Man villain is finally coming back to comics. Level one comes to an end with a big talk about Injustice 2 and why we’re super excited for it.
Heading into level two, Fox is getting into the world of gaming and we’re strangely excited for it. We also break down the new Xbox free-to-play reward system and we close out level two with a discussion on how gaming is a positive thing for mental health.
Over in the world of entertainment, Star Wars episode 8 has a title and the internet is going crazy over fan theories on what it means for the future of the franchise. We also have some AMAZING Terminator news that makes us super excited and some Suicide Squad news that is surprisingly enjoyable. (and we prove mathematically that Predator is better than Star Wars)
Our epilogue this week is about what our video games will say about us as a culture (deep thoughts, yo). As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (info@thesurlynerd.com!)
