Episode 232 : Revenge of the Microtransaction

Thanks to Activision, it’s time for part 2 on our debate over microtransactions!

Is this really the future?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we have even more awesome Pacific Rim news! Also this week, we break down what is wrong with Free Comic Book Day, and we discuss if Marvel should host their own convention, like D23.
Heading into level two, Sony is working with Nintendo – and we’re pretty excited about it. We also mourn the loss of Visceral (and their upcoming Star Wars game) and Phil Spencer wins our hearts again as he discusses platform-exclusive DLC.
Over in the world of entertainment, we break down what we could be seeing for the New Mutants movies going forward. Also this week, John Carpenter opens up on his philosophy on remaking his movies and Robert Englund tells us if he is willing to step into Freddy’s shoes again.
Our epilogue is week is a part-two of our ongoing debate about the ethics of microtransactions.
As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (info@thesurlynerd.com!)
