Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we talk about the 80’s gem known as “Madballs” We also talk about the changes being made over at VERTIGO and what’s new in the world of DC Comics eBooks. Level one wraps up with a discussion about death in comics and if it has any impact anymore.
In game industry news, Dark Souls launches an amazing kickstarter, and we reach the end of the life for the Xbox 360. Sony tells us about their all new two-factor authentication and we close out our gaming talk with Ken Levine’s theoretical Twilight Zone reboot/game.
Over in the world of entertainment, AMC shakes things up with a new “texting during films” rule, MTV gets revved up for a Biopic about…themselves and Tony gets super excited for Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. We end level 3 with a talk about ALIEN 5 and what to expect with this new movie experiment – The Screening Room.

Greetings adventurers and welcome to episode 21 of the show. This week we open up with Technology news where we talk about Steam for Linux, NASA’s upcoming plans, the president going back to Reddit and the Microsoft gaming tablet. From there we head over to Level 2: Entertainment News where Mortal Kombat and Star Wars take center stage followed by news about the new Twilight Zone movie and Del Toro wanting to do a Justice League of monster movies.
We wrap up the show this week in Level 3: Gaming news where we cover what Capcom is up to, the financial state of several gaming companies, more video gaming prints dying and what’s going on over at Blizzard. A little talk about Seal Team Six, the Microsoft rewards program and what we think about video games that are movie tie-ins close out our broadcast.
