Episode 205: Sound Design In Games

We always talk about graphics when it comes to gaming, but how important is good sound design?

How important is sound to game design?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we kick things off in comics where the year of strange comics continues with the announcement of a Green Hornet/Spirit crossover as well as a Betty Page spy thriller. Star Wars closes out level one with a discussion about Captain Phasma’s new title.
Heading into level two, we have more Star Wars news with tons of info about the new Battlefront game. We also get angry about the cancellation of the NES classic and get into Tencents attempt to take down STEAM
Over in the world of entertainment, we have a few TNT announcements (Tales from the Crypt, Let the Right one In) and Fede Alvarez is taking a stab at the Labyrinth universe. Level 3 wraps up with Warner Brothers plans for a bigger animated universe, possibly starting with Watchmen.
Our epilogue this week is all about the importance of sound in video game design. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (info@thesurlynerd.com!)
