The Gunslinger is coming, will hell follow?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we get excited for William Gibson’s new series ARCHANGEL. We also talk about Brian Singer wanting a female Wolverine, and scratch our heads wondering why DC can’t make a damn decision on what their Rebirth actually is. We wrap up level one talking about Robert Kirkman’s new series Heroes and Villains: The history of comic books and if we feel that the history of comics is worth preserving.
In game industry news, Tony gets to talk about the possibility of Destiny 2, E3 decided to open their doors to the public and Square-Enix continues to impress us with the very candid way they discuss their newest Final Fantasy game. We also get into EA’s new dev team called FROSTBITE LABS and what they are doing to improve VR before we wrap up with a lengthy discussion about the Nintendo NX having no freaking clue what it wants to be.
Over in the world of entertainment, Stephen King tells us why DARK TOWER fans may not enjoy the film adaptation as much as the books, DAMIEN gets cancelled to no ones surprise, and we discuss if the Friday the 13th reboot should be shit-canned along with it. We also touch on a quote from the director of THOR: RAGNAROK where he talks about how Marvel needs to handle its director choices going forward. Level 3 wraps up with a talk about the newest Predator film and if the GOOGLE/IMAX virtual reality camera is really important to Hollywood film making.
Our epilogue this week is questions brought to us by YOU, our lovely adventurers. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (firstname.lastname@example.org!)
