Episode 172: Honey, I Shrunk The Movies

Movies are being remade as television properties, but is it really necessary? We discuss that and the week in geeky news, on an all new…The Surly Nerd!

Do movies really need to come to television?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we tell you how the summer battle between Marvel and DC turned out (according to retailers). We also cover the HUGO awards winners (or two of them), get down and dirty with Justice League Dark and discuss the changes being made to Free Comic Book Day.
In game industry news, we have more talks about Xbox to PS4 cross-play and what Nintendo plans to do to make the Nintendo NX a success. There’s also a TON of Resident Evil 7 news to dissect before we close out level two with a tiny talk about Destiny matchmaking.
Over in the world of entertainment, we say goodbye to Gene Wilder, argue over Friday the 13th rights and talk about Texas Chainsaw BBQ. Level three wraps up with a brief talk about the Star Wars Story Group and what the show runner of GOTHAM really thinks about superhero shows.
In our epilogue this week we have Hollywood wanting to bring more films out as television shows and talk about if we really need this content in our lives. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (info@thesurlynerd.com!)
Grab a drink and settle on in for this weeks action packed episode of…The Surly Nerd
