Pokemon GO has launched, but will we talk about it? We answer this question and more on this weeks all new…The Surly Nerd!
Happy Birthday ‘Cap
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we get into what’s new in the pipeline for LUKE CAGE. We also chat a bit about the He-Man/Thundercatss crossover, what’s new with the CW and Netflix and talk about the rumors that Ghost Rider might show up in Agents of Shield. We close out level one with a big discussion about Captain America and why we’re all still rooting for him.
In game industry news, we have new news about the Resident Evil 7 demo and we go in-depth with the Xbox play anywhere feature. We also have a talk about e-sports as Street Fighter 5 is coming to ESPN and what’s up next from From Software. Our main topic for gaming this week is about the new era of consoles and if a lack of information about them is damaging to their respective brands.
Over in the world of entertainment, we finally have a release date for Pacific Rim 2, we discuss John Malkovich’s new nerd comedy and talk about the impact that “The Killing Joke” is about to have to theaters. Level 3 gets all wrapped up nicely with talk of the FLATLINERS remake and dissect why Nintendo is finally opening up about the movie industry.
Our epilogue this week is about the addition of Sulu being gay in the new Star Trek movie and the pros and cons of it. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (email@example.com!)

How excited we are for the Deadpool trailer
Greetings adventurers, it’s an all new episode of The Surly Nerd! Join us as we wade through the plethora of news coming out of San Diego Comic-con. So much happened in the last week in the world of nerdy news but does ANY of it have to do with comic books? We kick our show off with that thought as we go into the winners of the Eisner Awards and from there move into what’s new for Superman in his comics as well as Marvels plans for their newest acquisition – Angela.
We slide from those comic topics over to the world of video games. John Romero tells us what he thinks about the PC vs Console war, we get deep into what makes HALO a true franchise and we bitch more and more about Ubisofts sexism. We try to talk about happier things in Entertainment News with Evil Dead television series but just end up angrier from where we started. Avengers theories, Batman V Superman rants and a discussion about the Deadpool “leaked” trailer close out our show. Get comfy with us as we get into super geeky comic discussions on episode 101 of The Surly Nerd.
