Is the horror bubble going to burst?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head right into the weekly raid (our news roundup).
Kicking things off this week, we dive right into an update about what’s going on over at DC Comics. Syfy is launching an all new Day of the Dead show and Super Smash Brothers is finally getting the tournament it deserves.
Also this week, Project G.G was announced, but what is it? We also cover Bob Iger leaving Disney and have a news roundup on what the Cornavirus is doing to gaming. We close out the news this week with GOG’s new refund policy and what it means for you.
Our Boss Room this week is all about the upcoming future for horror.
As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (firstname.lastname@example.org!)

GDC, PAX and NIMH take center stage on this weeks…The Surly Nerd!
Maybe it’s time to rework Lovecraft’s world
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! We have a heck of a show for you this week, starting off over in the world of comics where we talk about Groot getting his own series and the challenges that brings to the writers of said book, as well as a lengthy discussion about Alan Moore’s new project called Providence. Published by Avatar Press, Providence is a new take on the Lovecraft Mythos which spurs us down the rabbit hole of debate as to how relevant H.P Lovecraft is to a modern audience.
In video game news, GDC and PAX have ended and we have all the news that’s fit to rant about in there. Valve has gone into more detail about their new Steam machines, controllers and VR but is it too little to late with the NVIDIA shield and their GRID system on the horizon and we close out level 2 with a state of the union address from game developers on where they see the industry heading. Over in level 3 we cover the NIMH remake, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress adaptation by Bryan Singer and what the Captain America: Winter Soldier writers are doing over at Sony Pictures.
Our Epilogue this week is heated debate as to how DC should be handling their TV and movie properties in terms of creating crossovers. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to our show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (email@example.com!)
