Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where IDW is giving us one heck of a crossover with a new Transformer/Ghostbusters comic series and toy. DC is going to kick off the year of the villain in May and Marvel has something absolutely SAVAGE to bring to their Avengers comics.
Kicking off video game news this week, Tony opens up about what happened over at Blizzard/Activision now that the layoffs are complete. Nintendo had a new Nintendo direct this as well and there’s SO much to break down from that.
Over in the world of entertainment, Netflix has finally put an end to both The Punisher and Jessica Jones. Are You Afraid of the Dark is coming back in full force, and we finally know who’s stories are going to premiere on Shudder’s upcoming Creepshow series.
Our epilogue this week is all about what we’d love to see out of the next series of MCU films.

Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where DC tells us what’s in store for this years Batman day. We also delve into what kind of movie the Black Panther film will be and we hear what’s around the corner for the Justice League after DC’s Rebirth. Level one closes out with a talk about Surgeon X by IMAGE as we celebrate new intellectual properties coming to comics.
In game industry news, Nintendo has held another Nintendo Direct and the results are…disappointing. We also hear how Sony is tackling the mobile space and wrap up level 2 with a discussion about how Final Fantasy XV may change the franchise.
Over in the world of entertainment, we have RED camera celebrating the explosions of Michael Bay and a look at the new Sci-Fi version of Spartacus. Netflix also gives us a taste of their new science programs with “White Rabbit” and “Bill Nye Saves the World”. The curtain falls on level 3 with a discussion about the new Star Trek series and if we are really on board with it.
