Episode 203: Defending Comic Book Crossovers

You’ve heard us complain about event fatigue in comics, but what makes for a really great comic book crossover event?

What makes for a great comic crossover event?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we kick things off in comics where only one thing is on our mind: The VP of Sales for Marvel, blaming low comic sales on diversity in comics.
Heading into level two, we break the sad news that the Mad Catz brand is coming to an end and talk about who’s playing the Scarecrow in the new INJUSTICE game. The last bit of level 3 is all about letting Tony and Hector have some fun and discuss everything we know about DESTINY 2.
Over in the world of entertainment, we find out who’s going to be directing the BATGIRL movie, and debate how “We Happy Few” could make a fantastic movie. We close out level three with a discussion about Darren Aronofsky’s body of work…and what he’s working on next that has us excited (with a little break to talk about the IT trailer).
Our epilogue this week is all about comic book crossover events, and what makes for a great one. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (info@thesurlynerd.com!)
