What do we need from E3 2020?
Greetings adventurers, welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head right into the weekly raid (our news roundup).
Kicking things off this week, the Snyder cut of the Justice League is finally happening. Suicide Squad’s director wants to get his own film cut and Command and Conquers remake is going to give out its code.
Also this week, Labyrinth is finally getting a sequel and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is coming to Amazon. Closing things out this week, Hotline Miami is getting a comic, and there’s a new Superhero movie that has us hyped.
Our Boss Room this week is about what we need to see during E3 2020.

(00:46:00) In Video Game Industry News – Microsoft talks ALL about Halo and gets rid of the Kinect, Oculus gets some of the Google Glass and 343 devs on their side, Microsoft releases gold requirements for Netflix and HBO Go, and we give our E3 predictions.
(1:16:00) In Entertainment News – HIMYD is dead and buried next to Supernatural Bloodlines, Marvel announces Namor and we get balls deep into the future of super hero movies, television shows and more.

In Game Industry News (37:00) – A Kingdom Hearts survey rolls out to fans, Nintendo turns down mobile AGAIN but keeps with consoles, The Room sells gangbusters and has things to say to the games industry about it, Microsoft wants Xbox Live on ALL THE THINGS, Rockstar gets honored by BAFTA, Broderbund donates to the museum to play and the PS3 gets HBO.
In Entertainment News (1:13:00) – The Harlem Hellfighters comes to the big screen, Michael B. Jordan talks about becoming the Human Torch, we get the cast for Constantine, Sam Rami takes on The Last of Us, Texas Chainsaw goes 4k, A Monster Calls moves from book to film, we might get more of The Matrix and Josh Boone gets ready to tackle The Stand.
(23:00-ish) In Level 1 Comic Industry News: Apple bans Al-Qaeda’s gay weapon, Magneto becomes a detective, Comixology gives away some Christmas treats and Stan Lee Media rears its ugly head again.
(52:00-ish) In Level 2 Game Industry News: Telltale announces Borderlands and Thrones, Yoshida leaves Square, Fallout 4 hoaxer wants to watch the world burn, and Nintendo gives us their predictions for the years end.
(1:28:00-ish) In Level 3 Entertainment News: Bruckheimer and Paramount get in bed with Cruise, the Terminator is back, Jesus takes on exorcism and Fox wants a more cinematic experience for the X-men universe.
Greetings adventurers and welcome to the first episode of the year for…The Surly Nerd!
We start off this week in technology news with Windows 8’s sales issues, Sony’s plan for their own HBO Go and we explain to you what a Gamestick is (spoiler: it’s not what you think). Closing out level one we talk about the future of Sony’s DRM with the PS4. We bounce over to level two, game industry news from there where we cover what’s new with THQ, new ways to transfer your xbox account internationally, what’s new with the original Bioshock and finally we chat about what one father would do to keep his kid from gaming.
In level three, entertainment news we delve into EPIX and if it’s going to be good to have on the market, what’s going on with Community and the new Bates Motel TV show and finally we talk about how great J.J. Abrams is to his fans. Drinks at the Inn closes us out this week with a long talk about what we look forward to in 2013.
