Heading into level two, James freaks out as he talks about the 10th anniversary of Bioshock and we give you all the Gamescom news about PUBG that you need! Level 2 wraps up with us geeking out over a game that we didn’t even know we needed.
Over in the world of entertainment, we talk about all things Stranger Things and get into what 1922 is and why you should be excited. Level 3 comes to a close with a Dead Snow 3 announcement that quickly derails us into a talk about What Happened to Monday.

Why do we love horror?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we have talks about what Deadpool 2 is going to be about! We also praise the sun with some Dark Souls comic news and debate if CBS actually needs a superhero show or not. Level one comes to a close with Civil War II delays and a lengthy follow-up talk about the state of the DCCU due to a letter leaked to the press over the week.
In game industry news, Nintendo Power is taken offline, Telltale games is teasing us with a Mr. Robot project and Nordic games becomes THQ Nordic. We wrap up level 2 with a discussion about the new “Prey” game, and talk at length about what Sony’s next move is – with Gamescom upon us.
Over in the world of entertainment, Stranger Things gets its own Vinyl, and we talk more than we should about the upcoming He-Man movie. David Lynch tells us how long Twin Peaks will be, David Fincher is in talks to work on World War Z 2 and we get into the topic of video game adaptations and if they should happen at all.

Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our (Ultron [non-spoiler] filled) prelude we jump into comics, where we find out what DC Comics is doing to screw over creators this time while the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is out trying to expose more comic creators to our youth. Next we tackle why Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are no longer mutants, followed by news on what’s going to happen to the Fantastic Four post Secret Wars as well as a talk about why Secret Wars can be both good and bad for the Marvel U.
In game industry news, John Riccitello has come out against Microsoft, prompting the entirety of the internet to roll their eyes at the former EA-CEO. We bid our last farewell to P.T and our hopes and dreams for Silent Hills, while Oculus enters negotiations with Sony and Microsoft to have the Rift put on their consoles. More news hits the world of Lego video games, with the announcement of the LEGO Dimensions series and Sony decides to pull back from Gamescom this year in a surprise move to everyone.
Over in the world of entertainment, rumors are abound that HULU is trying to create a TV series based on the hugely successful MYST franchise, Marvel’s Infinity War is announced to be the first feature film shot entirely in IMAX and MACHINIMA kicks up their own TV lineup with a series of shorts based around ROBOCOP, DC Comics, SLENDERMAN and more! Fox has confirmed that both LUCIFER and MINORITY REPORT will be headed to TV this fall, while the #saveconstantine campaign is in full force. In the midst of this, ABC is cancelling the S.H.I.E.L.D spin-off and Jesse Eisenberg tells us that he knows nothing about comics at all.
