Will Nintendo rise to take over the world once again? We answer this question and more on an all new episode of…The Surly Nerd!
We like weirdly specific movie genres
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where Archie is going to meet the Ramones. We get old school with Plan 9 From Outer Space, The Lost Boys and then get into what’s new with the X-men TV franchise. We wrap up level one with a discussion on growth in the comic sector and how they can maintain their numbers.
In game industry news, the NES is making a return, ReCore is only $40 and Kojima talks about the importance of episodic gaming. Level 2 closes out with a huge discussion on the impact of Pokemon GO to Nintendo’s business and what it could mean for them in the world of consoles going forward.
Over in the world of entertainment, the Community movie might still be happening, Batman is going to terrorize the Suicide Squad, and we talk about an obscure video game that might be turned into a movie. The curtain falls on entertainment this week as we talk about Neill Blomkamp’s Alien’s film and why secrecy is so important to the making of the new Star Wars films.
Our epilogue this week is about weirdly specific sub-genres that we love in film. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (email@example.com!)
