Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head right into the weekly raid (our news roundup).
Kicking things off this week, we start on a happy note as we talk about the delays to the Master Chief Collection and why that’s a good thing. Blizzard takes center stage as Diablo 4 implements micro transactions and we find out just how much money Activision has made in the last quarter alone in micro transactions. We also have a slew of TV renewals to get hyped for, to wash the bad Blizzard talk out of our mouths.
Also this week, Scream is in talks to hit the big screen again – but do we want it? Jeff Kaplan finally opens up on the Blizzard ruling of Blitzchung and China is putting stricter regulations on how much their citizens can game. We close out the news this week with Smash Brother becoming the largest selling fighting game of all time, and with good reason.

Over in the world of entertainment, Eli Roth is releasing more History of Horror in podcast form. The Haunting of Hill House is officially getting a second season, and Neil Gaiman is bringing back one of the greatest Jim Henson properties of all time.
