Movies, Comics, Gaming and more on this weeks…Age of the Surly Nerd!
Is this the Ouya end times?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude we jump into comics, telling you why you should pick up the new Humble Bundle, we find out who is working on the new Drax series and go into Frank Miller coming back to The Dark Knight. We close up level one going over the new “female focused Transformers” any why it’s simultaneously a great thing and a horrible thing to happen to comic books.
The Video Game Industry highlights this week are about state of the Ouya as well as the state of MMO’s and why they are a dying art. We also cover the newest Kickstarter success by the Banjo-Kazooie and close up level two with a comprehensive discussion about the Steam “paid mods” store. Our Entertainment news highlights include: The Universal movie monster shared universe, a remake of the Cube horror franchise, and the legal action Hollywood is taking against Torrent sites. Our entertainment topic of the week is about advertising over-saturation and what that means to us.
Our epilogue this week is about Konami and what their recent decisions mean to the global gaming market at large. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to our show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (firstname.lastname@example.org!)
