With one battle over micro-transactions won, we have to ask…How much power does Disney wield?
Does the Mouse have more control than we think?
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we follow up on what Brian Michael Bendis is doing with his JINXWORLD titles now that he is leaving Marvel comics. We also have news about a Marvel Retrospective exhibit that will be coming to Seattle, and we get one more nail in the coffin of Wizard World.
Heading into level two, we find out what’s really going on with Gamestop’s upcoming rental program. Also in gaming we have some crazy news about Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 and break down the debate over the new “safe mode” in the console version of SOMA.
Over in the world of entertainment, it looks like Nintendo is getting back into making movies and we get super excited about the Are You Afraid of the Dark film. Level three comes to a close as we discuss Danny Elfmans grievances with the state of modern superhero musical themes.
Our epilogue is week is a discussion on how much power Disney has over their properties when those properties are handled by third parties.
As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (email@example.com!)
Grab a drink and settle on in for this weeks action packed episode of…The Surly Nerd!
