Episode 175: Go e-Sports Go!
Are e-Sports the next big thing, or just a brief trend? We delve into that and the week in geeky news on an all new…The Surly Nerd!
e-Sports: kinda a big deal
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where DC and Harley Quinn take center stage, showing how powerful DC’s new brand is. We also discuss what’s new with “She”-Hulk and wrap it all up with a talk about the new INSANE Marvel crossover event that’s coming soon.
In game industry news, the battle for 4K is kicking off, but has it ended before it’s even really begun? We also have EA merging all of their studios under one banner, and a super serious discussion about depression in the world of game development.
Over in the world of entertainment, we break down our thoughts on Star Wars episode 8, and discuss if Westerns are still a viable film genre. Level 3 is closed out with a chat about Mad Max rumors (even though we don’t comment on rumors).
In our epilogue this week we break down the rise of e-Sports and if it’s going to get even bigger than it already has. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (email@example.com!)
