Episode 171: Content Wars
The war for console exclusive content is here, and it could hurt everyone. We discuss this and the week in geeky news, on an all new…The Surly Nerd!
Hang in there everyone, Spider-man is going to be AWESOME
Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After our prelude, we head into comics where we talk about how big NYCC (New York Comic Con) is getting and who’s stepping up to write for Deadpool. We also get into the SHAZAM movie and why it could save DC, and end level one with The Runaways announcement.
In game industry news, Allison Road is getting resurrected and we go into why the new Resident Evil game might upset longtime fans of the series. We also have announcements about the new PS4 models and EA’s thoughts on why this new console generation is a good thing.
Over in the world of entertainment, we have talks of a Lost Boys reboot that has Tony all excited. We also talk about the newest Sherlock comedy, what the Internets favorite films are (according to Twitter) and get really surly as we discuss the changes being made to the Spider-man Homecoming movie.
In our epilogue this week we get into the concepts behind console exclusive content – and if it’s a good or bad thing for us as consumers. As always, we appreciate all our adventurers who listen to the show every week and we look forward to your feedback on what we discuss! (firstname.lastname@example.org!)
Grab a drink and settle on in for this weeks action packed episode of…The Surly Nerd
